Cover Story

I was lucky to win a free book cover from at drawing at RWA (Romance Writers of America) from selfpubbookcovers.com and I was able to do a lot of the designing myself. That meant I needed to change some ideas and be flexible, but who turns down a free cover, right? Then I found out that if you buy the cover, or win it as I did, you still need a spine and back cover. Needless to say, that wasn’t part of the prize, so as I was getting things together I placed the order. Later that same day as I was entering files to publish, I saw that CreateSpace, a division of Amazon, has a free generator program I could use to do the same thing. So I am torn, do I go with the paid for spine and back, or do I see what I can come up with on my own. Naturally I had to see what I could come up with because curiosity is a natural in any kind of writer. In the mean time, I called the selfpubbookcover people to cancel, but had to leave a message. The file is uploading…. my fingers are crossed and my heart is pounding. Wish me luck.
