Heron’s Bonds

How many stories are in each of your books? Someone asked me recently; and I shrugged, because I don’t use a pattern, so it is never the same number. I do tend to have several stories going on at the same time. I always thought that made for an interesting read as long as they were woven together and not developing independently.

Needless to say I do a lot of braiding and weaving as I write. In Heron’s Bonds much of the story is pretty straightforward. Heron finds Trissy, they start the bond. There are a few unexpected twists and turns, a few people show up unexpectedly, others come as planned. Grabon steps more into his role as the territory dragon.

The clan starts to form, that is the dragon tradition of a psychically bonded society forming around the territory dragon. In Grabon’s case it also includes humans. Farmers come and go, friendships are formed, enemies are made and along the way a few wonderful things happen.
