Differences Anyone?
If we shared space, here on this earth, with another dominant, arrogant species and every law, every rule, every public cultural tidbit needed to be inclusive, would we develop species pride, much the way people look at racial pride?
I suspect we would, and society would have no mercy on the child that came from both species, if such a thing were possible. Between my dragons and humans it is not, but you get the general idea.
Humans are interesting. We rank differences, even disabilities, it is better to be deaf than blind. It is better to be mentally ill than autistic, better to have a physical disability than a learning disorder. We are obsessed with our differences, our rank, our outlook on the rest of the world and we like to believe that everyone thinks as we do.
At some point as a species, do you think humans will realize how foolish all the fuss was about colors and markings, or will they forever be focused on differences?
