The Planet

In the beginning, the humans develop a sense that the newfound power they have is coming from the planet. They make references to the power of the planet. Among the humans there are theories about how the power came to be in the humans, in the animals, in the plants. Little by little, as their connections to the power grows one by one, that language manifests in belief. Trissy and Hanna have a conversation about who or what is behind the power, choosing their mates and directing their lives.

The dragons on the other hand seem to have a knowing sense about the planet. It is more than belief or faith, and it is more than language. It becomes obvious that Heron has a sense of the planet, and as his and Trissy’s bond grows, he passes that knowledge on to his mate. The dragons view the planet as an entity, a powerful entity that is capable of being wrong, of making a mistake and of directing their actions and knowing more than they do.

In book 6, when the council is revealed and more is learned about the dragons and dragon politics and structure, more is also learned about the planet.
