Blackout Resolved

By seven last night, my husband and I were stretching cords from one room to the next, plugging in air conditioners and making the house livable for a night with only half power. By eight or half past, our friendly landlady called and said an electrician would be a half hour or so and work late. We could hardly believe it.

That young man worked hard, found the loose wire, exposed and rubbed raw in the attic, possibly chewed on to cause the short. He did a temp fix, came back with a partner early this morning and had us repaired and running on all cylinders by nine.

It turns out that all our concerns about replacing air conditioners and electronic failure of appliances had to do with partial power supplies. Glad to be functional again. The plan for the day may commence… after a nap, some food, and tea.

Hallelujah. It’s bad to be without power at any time, but mid-August? Ugh. Glad y’all are back up to speed!
