Sight Seeing

Last night I was unable to blog anything because our WiFi signal was so weak. I couldn’t FaceTime my parents either, but I was at least able to call. It is funny how some signals are stronger than others and determine what you can and cannot do on line. It can be frustrating, but it is all part of the adventure.

After traveling, viewing Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore and going through Wall Drugs in one day, we were just happy to find a place to sleep. It was even a lovely spacious room, very clean and nicely done. If you have never made the stops to see the mountain sculptures, any or all of that, I recommend them all. Crazy Horse was especially inspiring and touching. We spent a great deal of time there. The education center and displays were really magnificent.

Mount Rushmore was even more spectacular in person than I had imagined. It was very crowded, hot and commercialized, but the sculpture was well worth viewing. It was the perfect segway from Crazy Horse to Wall Drugs which is a fabulous tribute to American commercialism and consumerism. I do not say that with a sneer, there is nothing wrong with that, as long as commercial and consumer practices do not dictate a person’s ethics.
