Strangers
We rarely meet people we don’t enjoy, from the waiter at the pizza joint, sweating and straining to serve everyone to the lady manning the hotel desk. Shawn and I enjoy our encounters with people. We often strike up conversations with strangers at odd times and in odd places, but last night we broke our own record.
After checking in at the hotel, we were on the hunt for a place to eat. We landed in New Castle, a sweet little town. They have a lot of eating places but it was Sunday night and well after the usual dinner hour. We drove out to find one place closed, located another, parked and realized that no less than five stairs were needed to get in and we were driving back through town when Shawn spotted a woman in a pink 👚 standing at a trading book box on the sidewalk. We drove past, turned and parked so I could speak to her.
After being sure that she enjoyed fantasy romance, I told her about the NewEarth Series and promised her if she signed up for my Newsletter and sent me a message, I would send her Gordon’s Pride, signed and embossed. I hope she follows through. She was a lovely woman and it was fun getting to speak with her.
Did you ever find your dinner?
Of course, a person my size can’t skip a meal, I would waste away and turn to dust! We landed at the
Pizza Hut and found some really good baked pasta dishes that hit the spot. Easy access in and easy access out.
