Wasps
We spend a lot of time on the front porch, some in the daytime, some at night. We have a light on the porch which evidently was a cozy spot for the wasps to nest and congregate, right above Shawn’s head. It was fine until summer arrived and it was time to put in the bug bulb. Now if you have never made use of one of these yellow bulbs, sold at Walmart and other discount stores, they really make a difference. You simply swap out the regular bulb for this and it keeps the bugs away from the door.
Shawn, my brave husband, went out armed with only a fly shatter to rid us of the wasp nest. I came from behind shaking the can of wasp killer, the chemical weapon designed for battle of this kind. After claiming victory over the great flying ones, he deployed the chemical weapon just to make sure we did not fall under attack by the next generation.
Now that the new bulb is in and the wasp nest is gone, I am sending him after the spiders next.
Hooray for Shawn!
He is my hero!
