When I was planning the NewEarth Series I was involved in discussions about experiential learning and application of knowledge and how all of that could be applied in our current educational system along with apprentiship programs and mentoring. I don’t know if we ever managed to solve any problems in real life that helped any kids, but I certainly came up with an interesting system among the dragons.

Check out all the ways dragons learn new skills, discover their talents and manage to practice until they are proficient or beyond. At the same time compare it to the human methods and you will see some distinct differences. More of those differences become clear as the series continues.
