Adventure
In my mind there have always been at least two types of adventure, the kind that gets you filthy and the kind that doesn’t. I love them both, but they are usually two very different things. Some adventures are conversations, or reading, but more often than not that is peering into someone else’s experience. It takes a really good story for me to feel like I was a participant. I digress… conversation are adventurous when they explore the unknown, or they are with strangers. Both are excellent ways to pass the time.
The other type of adventure involves being outdoors, or at least not in front of the computer composing dialogue. It can be gardening, especially when one encounters a snake, badger, spider or other critter intent on claiming your garden as his or her own. It can be a trip, driving, walking, flying, train riding or even on a boat. Another obvious setting for an adventure is a destination like the store, park, fair, museum, resturaunt, post office etc. also a lake, river, trail, church, temple, or pond.
In other words… life is an adventure, the setting of your story and I hope you have many adventures today and enjoy each one of them.
