Gordon’s Barns
I don’t know how familiar you are with barns of different sizes and shapes here on OldEarth, but while they are solid in structure, they lack for a certain type of closure, especially after a few decades of use. In fact on a bright day if you go inside and close the doors, lots of light seeps through and very few barns have intended windows.
Gordon’s barns sound a lot sturdier, or maybe it’s the shielding that makes them sound that way, but I picture his barns as being large sturdy and made of log, not the traditional red that we use here on OldEarth but simple log structures, huge doors on one end and another on the side. Maybe resembling the Long Lodge Houses of certain indigenous people, but taller.
