Adoption

Dragons have a different view of adoption. It is not considered noble or even a good thing. Generally all unclaimed youngsters go to the nearest territory dragon. He or she then assumes all responsibility for the youngster. How can that be? Well as you find out in the stories there are brews that work on both males and females that prevent conception. That being the case there are few times that an accidental pregnancy can happen. Both parties have to be negligent at the same time. Romping is acceptable between dragons, but unmated pairs, unless they nest together, do not conceive and have youngsters. For an unmated male or female to keep custody of a youngster, they would need to live in unclaimed territory.
