❤️ Love and Romance ❤️
We tend to think of romance at the beginning of a relationship and love being the emotion and commitment that carries a pairing through a lifetime. However, my husband has always found ways to bring romance into our daily lives no matter how far from the beginning we manage to get.
For a period of two years I got Wednesday gifts. No reason, just because it was mid-week, and they were usually small but thoughtful. Lots of women were jealous, but I loved it.
During a particularly stressful stretch at work, he quietly assumed all the household chores. When I was sick, he screened my calls, making sure nobody upset me or tried to drag me back into work mode.
If I stop to admire flowers, he often produces them to decorate our table at home. Being thoughtful, caring and supportive is the best kind of romance.
Do I struggle to return the favor? Of course I look for ways to make his life easier, to make him laugh or grin. I have a secret plan in mind for the winter. If it goes well, I’ll blog about it.
Lucky you! Lucky us!
